The Canadian Computing STEM Contest - 2023, popularly known as CCSC-2023, is an initiative by Competitive Kids STEM to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their programming skills, especially in python, as well as apply creativity, critical thinking, and their unique perspective on logical problem-solving. The contest is designed in a manner that will challenge and promote software design, and creativity for the students in a fun way. All participants will be required to write one round of tests during summer of 2023, and qualified participants will be invited to write the Final Round.

Coding or programming gives a different perspective on problem-solving and helps develop important skills like creativity, problem-solving, logic, designing, perseverance, and communication. The contest questions will be presented at three different levels according to students' school grades. (Grades 3-5, 6-8, 9-12) This will allow them to compete at similar challenge levels.

Programming contests make you more disciplined, swift and focused. During the competition, a student must solve problems in a stressful situation and within a time limit to win. It also provides a competitive advantage when applying to colleges, internships, and jobs. While programming is logic-based, it’s also an extremely creative activity. Programming promotes logical thinking and teaches children how to tackle complex problems by breaking them down into smaller parts that are easier to manage and solve. By learning to code students learn to maximize their creativity and learn how to come up with their own ideas and create something new like apps, video games, websites making it fun and interesting.
