    OUTSTANDING STEM TEACHER AWARD

    Teachers play a significant role in mentoring students. Our goal is to promote a culture where students feel empowered to acknowledge and appreciate their teachers. Considering this, we are introducing the Outstanding STEM Teacher Award, where contest finalists can nominate their teachers. This year we received 33 nominations from 8 countries.     The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) was originally conceived in June 1945. The CMS’ vision for the future is to reach out to and form new partnerships with the users of mathematics in business, governments and universities, educators in the school and college systems as, well as other mathematical associations; and, in doing so, share experiences, work on collaborative projects and generally enhance the perception and strengthen the profile of mathematics in Canada.

  • Canadian Summer Contest 2022 WINNERS 

    • The summer contests had students participating from the smallest to the largest country in the world, even the Vatican City!

    • 2500+ students registered for the 2022 contests. 

    • 2800+ hours invested by the volunteer to run Canadian Summer Contests since its inception.

    • 266 finalists from 18 countries for Maths, Computing and Debate contests. Finals will be held in June - CDSC (4th June), CCSC (11th June), and CMSC (18th June). All finalists will be sent details to participate in the finals in the next few days. 

    • 1 million+ problems solved in the CKSTEM learning portal by the participants since the inception of the Summer Contests. 

    • 30000+ hours spent by the students globally to solve problems in the CKSTEM learning portal.

    • Gold Medalists from CMSC 2021 contest (Ansh A & Mark R) decided not to participate in 2022 contests to pave way for other students to win these coveted medals by becoming CMSC Advisors in support of the contest.

    • All finalists can nominate their teachers for the Best STEM Teacher Award. We will be publishing details of the nomination process soon.

    • You can also review your score and detailed solutions (for CMSC & CCSC) in the CKSTEM Learning Portal in the contest courses (go to preliminary section and click on the contest quizzes you attempted). We highly recommend you review it to enhance your learning.
