CKSTEM Curriculum
After carefully reviewing the curricula of several school boards and global competitions, we have developed a comprehensive CKSTEM Curriculum for our Math Problem-Solving, English, and Public Speaking courses. We are confident that this curriculum will help children not only compete but also excel at the global level.
Academic Calendar 2025-2026
We have planned an exciting year for the students and teachers. You can review our course and contest schedule. Many contests are available for all Canadian students. We want Canadian students to have as many opportunities as possible. Take advantage of these exclusive opportunities to learn, compete and win.
You can find the 2025-2026 calendar here.
Why should you enroll?
CKSTEM excels at nurturing talent and allowing them to participate in global olympiads. Therefore, contest participation is an integral part of our philosophy. All math courses include ~$400 worth of global contests every year.
Contests provide students with a reality check throughout the year and motivate them to improve their performance. Through their hard work, roughly 90% of our students win medals. We strongly encourage students to join our courses at the elementary level to build a strong foundation, which is why we have added the MPS 3 course this year.
Also, we proudly announce that one of our students has won a medal in the prestigious Canadian Math Olympiad, a testament to our student's hard work and dedication. We are now setting our sights on the International Math Olympiad, and we are confident that with our students' continued efforts, we will soon see more such achievements.
Middle School Explorer (MSE)
Middle School Explorers (MSE) is an advanced course for students in grades 5-7. The goal of this course is to provide a strong foundation for young students, preparing them for advanced math competitions such as the Canadian Math Olympiad (CMO), USA Math Olympiad (USAMO), and International Math Olympiad (IMO). By participating in this course, students will not only enhance their problem-solving skills but also gain a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts, which will be beneficial for their academic and personal growth.
This course is designed to minimize repetition and maximize exploration of a wide variety of problem-solving concepts. Students will be encouraged to spend time on each problem, understanding that the learning process is as necessary as the solution. The course will also focus on developing your skills in writing proofs, a crucial aspect of advanced math competitions.
The test for this course features a few complex problems. It's important to note that we're not expecting students to solve all the problems. What we're really interested in is how students approach the problems and demonstrate their problem-solving skills. Therefore, detailed solutions are expected, regardless of whether the problem was fully solved.
If you are interested in the course, write detailed solutions for questions you can solve and email your work as a PDF document to info@ckstem.org before 31st July.
High School Course Entrance Test
Our advanced summer course, commencing on July 7th, and the full-year course, starting in September, offer unique learning opportunities. We encourage you to complete the entrance tests to ensure you're prepared to grasp the complexity and enjoy the course. These tests will assess your readiness and provide a glimpse of the enriching experience that awaits you. Please follow the instructions in the entrance test if you are interested in the course.
These courses are taught by Ms. Cerasela, a seasoned educator who has been instrumental in helping hundreds of students realize their academic aspirations over the years. Her expertise and dedication make these courses a valuable learning experience.
CKSTEM Global Competitions
CKSTEM offers students several opportunities to participate in various global contests, providing a platform for learning and growth. Our most popular contests are the Canadian Innovation Contests, a series of 6 competitions allowing students to explore and enhance their math, science, computing, visual arts, creative writing, and public speaking & debate skills. Thousands of students participate each year, and many find it a transformative experience.
We have also partnered with the Olympiad Champion Education Centre to offer Canadian students a series of the world's best math Olympiads. MPS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the goals of the Math Problem Solving courses?
Math Problem Solving Courses' primary focus is learning and applying problem-solving skills in solving engaging math problems. These skills, if appropriately learned, are not limited to just math. Problem-solving skills are essential for students to get ready for the future. These courses also prepare students for global math competitions, including World Math Olympiads. We provide several opportunities to students throughout the year to "Learn, Compete, and Win."
We also teach students to learn from their failures by helping them develop good habits. We focus on coaching students to help them build mental toughness. Our highly experienced coaches provide the students with a good blend of mathematical and personal leadership lessons.
Are the classes online or in-person?
All our classes are online and conducted live. We record the sessions and publish them to the participating students. This is beneficial in case they miss any class or for reviews.
Do you take students outside Canada?
Yes! Currently, we have students from several countries including the USA, South America, & Asia.
How much time do I need for doing assignments?
Practice makes us perfect!
There is no substitute for hard work to become successful. Students can expect assignments requiring 3-5 hours of work every week. We will provide support to help students become confident. We will also teach them the techniques to overcome their fears. If students are self-motivated, they start to do well after 2-3 months. Once they understand the art of problem-solving, no problem is impossible for them.
Can I attend a course higher or lower than my school grade?
Age is just a number!
All students in the same grade are not equal. They have different levels of problem-solving skills. If students find a course either too easy or too hard, they don't enjoy that course. We encourage students to choose a level that challenges them without demotivating them. We will assess whether the student is ready for a higher level than their school grade. We want students to enjoy the challenges. As our courses are more complex than the school curriculum
How many students are in a course?
We will only take 10-15 students in the course. Hurry up if you would like to be a part of one of the best programs in Canada. You may review the achievements of our students in the previous years. Roughly 90% of our students performed well above the Canadian average in all competitions and won many national and international awards.
What will I learn in the course?
As stated earlier, we focus on mastering problem-solving skills by solving many engaging problems. Our database has over 30,000 beautiful problems. Here are some more details of what you can expect in the course.

We encourage students to participate in other vital contests, such as AMC, Gauss, COMC etc., through their schools or other organizations. However, our students are highly distributed across the USA and Canada, so we cannot conduct in-person contests.
Do you support families with financial constraints?
CKSTEM is a non-profit organization that primarily aims to support students in our community to realize their potential. Non-profit does not mean that everything needs to be free. We are committed to keeping Canadian Innovation Contests (CIC) free for all students. However, we want to be self-sufficient to run our operations using the latest technology. We need to pay the staff as well. In a nutshell, we don't make any profit but need revenue from our courses to run our operations.
Having said that, no student should miss an opportunity to learn, compete, and win because of financial constraints. If you need help, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will need financial documents to validate the family's financial status to provide bursaries.
How did CKSTEM students perform?
We are very proud of our student's performance. Our goal is to help students develop a winning mindset which requires students to learn how to manage failures elegantly. We help students develop good habits which go above and beyond teaching math. We believe in coaching students to take the world in their stride. Most of our students are much above the Canadian average. Few students are among the world's best students. We'd like you to please visit our past results here.
What kind of involvement is expected from the parents?
Historically, most successful students have very involved parents. We need parents to stay engaged throughout the course. This will also give families good talking points during long drives and help them create deeper bonds with their children.
